Welcome to Roots to Wildflowers. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Dawn — a counselor, grief companion, educator, and nature-centered guide. My work is devoted to creating gentle spaces for people who are grieving, caregiving, living with chronic illness, facing life-altering diagnoses, or moving through tender seasons of transition and change.
I believe grief deserves care, time, honesty, and compassionate presence. It is not something to “fix” or rushed through. Often, healing begins quietly — through being deeply heard, reconnecting with the body and the natural world, honoring memories, creating meaning, and learning how to carry love and loss together.
Nature has long been an important part of my own life and healing, and it shapes the way I approach this work. I am especially drawn to slow, reflective practices that help people reconnect with themselves: walking outdoors, noticing seasonal rhythms, journaling, ritual, creativity, silence, and rest. My hope is to offer spaces that feel grounded, calm, and deeply human.
My background includes years of work in education and helping professions, where I have supported individuals and families through complex challenges, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. In addition to counseling work, I have training in compassionate bereavement care and an ongoing interest in the intersection of grief, spirituality, nature, and meaning-making.
Through Roots to Wildflowers, I offer:
Grief counseling
Grief companioning and reflective support
Nature-centered practices and rituals
Restorative retreats and gatherings
Educational workshops and online courses
